Welcome to Breaking Barriers.

My goal is to provide a safe and positive environment for you to learn and improve your skills and fitness.

At Breaking Barriers my philosphy is “Train with Purpose”.  Every time you train in a class you are encouraged to leave your worries at the door and focus on “What’s Important Now”.

Offering a well rounded and holistic approach to your fitness and wellness I welcome all abilities and fitness levels.

With a Trauma Informed approach to all classes your overall wellbeing is my biggest priority.

I started kickboxing when I was 21 and I haven’t looked back.

I have achieved the rank of Black Singlet at two different schools and that remains some of my proudest achievements.

My training has continued to evolve and that is how Street Smart Martial Arts was born.

I wanted to combine the technical and combat sport skills with a real world mentality focusing on situational awareness and personal safety.

Whilst I enjoy a variety of training disciplines, I will always be a kickboxer and my aim is to share the mental, emotional and physical benefits that this discipline brings.

I strive to create a welcoming, honest and genuine environment where you will work hard and love every minute of it.

Street Smart Martial Arts

Our signature class draws from several martial arts in order to create a real world applicable mentality.  This process driven style is designed to teach you simple techniques that will work under pressure.

Whether your focus is on fitness, technique or a combination of both you will walk out of each class feeling strong, confident and challenged.

Not just focused on the physical aspect of Personal Safety we also learn the importance of Situational Awareness, the importance of how you move through the world (posture, voice etc) and themes surrounding Mindset and how this can positively impact your everyday experience.

Suitable for everyone from the absolute beginner to those with years of experience our students work as a team encouraging and supporting all abilities.

Complete Body Burner

Constantly changing you won’t ever get bored in this class. Whether you are wanting to complement your Street Smart training or are looking for a stand alone fitness/strength class this session is for you.

All abilities are welcome and this class is modifiable for all stages of life.

Modifications are provided for low impact, diastasis recti and injury management.

Recovery Workout

This class is all about helping your body recover after some harder sessions during the week.

A slower paced class focusing on movement patterns and strength will send you into the weekend feeling strong and mobile.

Recovery Stretch and Foam Rolling

Utilising Foam Rollers, Trigger Point Balls and good old fashioned stretching this class is all about helping your body recover.

An important part of a well rounded approach to your training this class is designed to help you stretch and release sore muscles.

Again - a great addition to your training schedule or a stand alone class for sore bodies.
